Abstract EN

This study aims to show the Islamic legal ruling and the Islamic religious scholars’ opinions of virtual currencies, which is one of the new financial novelties, and how it can be legally adjusted.

Problem of the Study 1- Can the Islamic legal ruling of money be applied to virtual currencies in regard to reciprocal exchange, expenditure, and possession? 2- Are these types of currencies internationally accepted by governmental organizations and monetary institutions? 3- How much are these types of financial transactions protected? 4- Are usury and monetary laws applicable to them? Objectives of the Study 1- Identifying the Islamic legal ruling of virtual currencies 2- Displaying different opinions of Islamic religious scholars in such financial novelties 3- Deriving much benefit from studying this critical issue and enriching the Arabic library with the findings Method of the Study This study adopted the inductive approach and investigation in addition to checking reliable resources in this area.

Also previous studies were discussed, and opinions were supported with evidence to highlight which one of them is the most appropriate.

Finally, the study’s findings were presented at the end of the study accompanied by deduced recommendations.
