Abstract EN

The current research aimed to reveal the effectiveness of employing augmented reality technology in developing self-organizing learning skills with preparatory year courses for King Abdulaziz University students.

The semi-experimental approach was used to compare the experimental and control groups, whereby the experimental group is studied using augmented reality technology, while the control group is studied using the traditional method.

The sample consisted of (52) students, who were randomly distributed equally to the two groups.

The research tool was developed and is a measure of self-organized learning.

The results of the research revealed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of students of the experimental group that are studying using (augmented reality technology) and the degrees of students of the control group that are studying using (the traditional method) in the post-measurement of the self-organized learning scale in favor of the experimental group, The results also showed the effectiveness of augmented reality technology in developing self-organizing learning skills for preparatory year students.

The research recommended the necessity of training faculty members on how to employ augmented reality technology in different educational situations, and paying attention to employing augmented reality technology in teaching preparatory year courses.
