Abstract EN

The study aimed at highlighting the characteristics of the marital education in the palestinian popular proverbs from an Islamic educational perspective.

the study tried to reveal the concept of marital education, its ingredients, and the guidelines related to the management of marital problems.

the study showed a great attention of the popular palestinian proverbs to address the issue of marriage in all its aspects and dimensions, beginning from looking for the appropriate partner and ending to divorce.

the proverbs agreed with the Islamic perspective in many standards of the choice of the future partner but differed in the priorities of these standards.

the proverbs, in different to Islamic perspective, refused the idea that a husband consult with his wife and gave him the absolute right to hit her.

the study also showed that the moral dimension, existing in origin and the roots of the family, is the regulator of all sides of marital life.

besides, the study revealed the perspective of proverbs in stabilizing marital life and in overcoming its problems which is through preventive, structural and therapeutic methods ; which are often very close to, and sometimes different from, the Islamic educational perspective.
