Abstract EN

This study focuses on the various projects and initiatives put forward by the European Union to support democracy in the Arab region.

Starting from the Association Agreements of Barcelona process 1995, the European Neighborhood Policy and the Union for the Mediterranean, reaching the new neighborhood policy of 2015.

This later which represents the European responde initiative to deal with the challenges of the post-Arab Spring transformations of 2011..

We found through the study that European Union has consecrated the continuity of the hegemony of security and economic goals, in contrust at the expense of political goals related to democratization in the Arab world.
