Abstract EN

This study investigated the general supervisor's practice of the educational tasks and the ways of developing their practice according to the school principals' point of view in Bani Kenana Directorate of Education.

To achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher distributed a questionnaire to a sample of school principals.

The questionnaire consisted of 26 items and three domains: administrative, technical and local.An open question was also raised for a number of school principals.

The results of the study showed that the degree of the general supervisor's practice was very high and there was a statistically significant difference attributed to gender in favor of the views of headmistresses compared to the views of headmasters.The study also revealed several tasks performed by the general educational supervisor such as monitoring the attendance records of students and implementing learning communities at the schools of a certain cluster.

Several recommendations were put forth in order to develop the educational tasks of the general educational supervisor.

These recommendations include participating in discussing school formations, following -up and activating the role of the development board of the schools cluster.
