This study attempts to explore the goals that Russia seeks to achieve from the process of controlling and restructuring the military institution in Syria after its direct military intervention in 2015, indicating the strategy that the Russians pursued to achieve this control process, whether through a change in the social composition of this institution, a change in the centres of power and their actors, or through the creation of new pro-Russia military formations in order to achieve the long-term objectives and interests of the Russians in Syria.
