English Abstract

Being an important source of information and knowledge in our modern era, the Internet has developed to become the main tool of communication and learning for adults and children.

This tool, however, has an offensive side that is harmful to the interests protected by criminal law.

With the increasing use of the Internet by children without effective protection mechanisms to monitor web activities, children have very often been victims of lures, exploitation and inhumane practices.

This raises the question as to what are the most important treaties concluded on children protection against the hazards of the internet? Where does the Algerian legislator stand on the matter? This paper, in three sections, will tackle these questions and attempt to provide answers.

In the first section, we will identify the concepts in question.

Then, in the second section, we will discuss the international and regional efforts spent to protect children from the dangers of the Internet.

In the third and last section, we will demonstrate the position of the Algerian legislator on the issue.
