At but not the research consists of an introduction and three chapters with a list of resources in additions to a conclusions.

The • section addressed the autobiography Of a I-Mas including his name which the sourc- eS did not give us enough infonnation about • _ It included mentioning his agnomen, his surnames and birth on which there Were three sayings about which I explained in the research text.

In this section, we also tackled his growth which was in Baghdad, as well as the sayings and opinions ofthe scholars about it and in his books, his in writing, his scientific writings and his death.

As to the second section, it was about al-Mas'oudi's resources in his book "Murouj al-Thahab" about the Prophetic biography, as al-Mas'oudi in narrating mosq of his news followed the way of mod- in mentioning and Citing the references, so he used the attribution in different Ways by which he expressed the Way the news reached him and to convey the and the narration accurately.

This section also addressed his resources in the Companions and follouers, so he narrated from Imam Ali Abi Talib (Peace be him) and the prophet's Wife Aa and he narrated from Abi Huraira, Ibn Abbas and al-Husain bin Ali (Peace be upon him), as well as the follouers and the followers' followers such as bin al-Zubair, Sa'eed bin al-Musayab, Qatada, Hammad bin Salama and the prophet's Family.

This section contained al-Mas'oudi's resources Of holy books, thus the Torah Was one Of his important resources from which he benefited in writing his book "Murouj al-Thahab", as well as the Holy Quran on which he relied in some Verses about Some historical events, for example, the prophet's expedition, migration, ethics, morals and such Other subjects.

The prophetic Traditions ( al-ahadeeth al- nabawya) had the greatest part in al-Mas'oudi's book "Murouj al-Thahab", as most of those who wrote the history Were Muslims religious scholars such as Mohammed bin IS 'haq (died 15 IAH_/768AD_), al-waqidi (died 207AH /822AD_) and Khalifa bin Khayyat (died 240AH '844AD_)_ This section con- tained another kind Of resources "al-Majaheel", as by them he transferred many narrations by • using words and phrases that indicate that , such as "it was said, a speaker said, of people who saw that.
