Abstract EN

This sudy comes as an important and unique opportunity to highlight one of I Important figures, Dr.

Murtada Hassan al-Naqib a personality that has always been mentioned in scientific and academic circles, whether in Baghdad - where he spent rnoQ of his academic activity - or in other cities and universities of Iraq.

He is the Professor of Islamic History and the Methodology of Scientific Research.

Before go through our main subject of Study, we have introduced what the Historiography means in general, and the beginnings of the emergence of this term, explaining its concepts and intellectual implications, so that we can review the role of Dr.

Naqib, who counted one of the most prominent innovators of historical thought in Iraq and the founders of the features of the Iraqi historical school of the second generation of its pioneers.

As well as the emergence of the American Historical School, which is one of its outQanding achievements during the second half of the twentieth century, and one of the most prominent professors of Iraqi hiQory who follow the scientific approach.

All this came as part of the syßtematic introduction that we set at the beginning of our Qudy, and then to be divided into two sections, as follows: The first section: We have made it titled Murtada al-Naqib.

We have presented his personal biography, the noble link that relates to the Imam Musa bin Ja'far al- Kadhim, and the site of his family in Karbala in particular, with reference to the most prominent figures of this family from the modern history of Iraq.

This section also included a thorough review of his academic and research career, the academic certificates he received, the scientific training he received in Westem universities, Canadian and American in particular, and his role in refining his skills and the maturity of his ideas.

The second section holds the title "al-Naqib, the last theorists ofhiétorical research methodology", where we reviewed and analyzed what Dr.

Murtada al-Naqib wrote in the field ofhiQorical reseaæh methodology and presented basic concepts in this field, explaining and analyzing to develop a brief Study of the methodology and scientific and historical research in particular, because of the importance of - as we see it - the sensitive position occupied by the research approach in the academic writing process.
