English Abstract

The Red Sea , with its geographical and strategic location , is considered an important «ftrip of international navigation and trade .

in particular, military and economic importance by using them as military bases for controlling the routes of sea trade .

ancient and Muslim and an important center for international trade , located in the south - western part of the red sea near bab al-mended in the £late of Eritrea The importance of the study is summarized in strategic location near bab al man dab, which has made it a focus of international competition , as it was a gathering point for ancient arab migrations .

its importance in the Islamic era lies in its being the main gateway to the spread of Islam in Africa since the seventh century .

in the age of the rashidakhaliphate, Muslims contributed to the dissemination of the teachings of Islam throughout the Islamic era , its cultural and economic importance was negated by the inscriptions and inscriptions found in the tombs .the Umayyad and abbasie also built caslles and fortresses to protect sea trade routes and encourage Muslims to settle there .

it was also ruled by Yemen , Egypt, Ethiopia and Portuguese .

in 1557 it became part of the ottoman rule .

The mosl important results are summarized in prosperity and political, economic and cultural development through the Islamic era , which has made it slop for the transit trade between Egypt and India , and through the sea between yemen and Ethiopia , and given a distinguished model for the commercial and economic transformations in the region .

The Study was based on the historical, analytical and descriptive methodology .

the study concluded with several recommendations , including the necessity of continued cooperation and coordination between the red sea countries in order to preserve national security in the region » it also took advantage of past experiences in finding an adequate force against threats and external intervention .

it also included Eritrea’s admission as an observer member in the Arab league , in preparation for working to avoid military presence and establishing joint military bases from the red sea countries
