Abstract EN

The study aims to highlight the position of one of the faces of the Algerian intellectuals, Si M’hamed bin Rahal, on the issue of education in Algeria in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in order to realize the extent of the Algerian elites’ preoccupation with this pivotal issue, which in their view was the best way to achieve the advancement of Algerian society.

The student of the literature of Ibn Rahal and his various interventions will notice that the issue of education occupied a large part of his interests, and that he tried, through the call for education, to bring about a reconciliation between the two civilizations, the Western and the Arab-Islamic civilizations.
