Abstract EN

The main aim of this study is to estimate the relationship between fish exports and economic growth in Libya during the period 1970-2017.

In order to achieve its objectives, the study adopted several techniques, which are correlation analysis, ARDL model and Toda & Yamamoto (1995) TY non-Granger causality test.The basic findings of the study showed a positive strong correlation between its variables.

In addition, it supported a long run equilibrium relationship between them.

Cointegration regression results illustrated a positive impact of fish exports on economic growth in the short run and long run.

TY test results captured a unidirectional long run causal relationship from fish exports to economic growth in Libya.
