The Purpose of this study was to measure the impact of organizational trust (OT) on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in Jordanian private hospitals.
The observational analytic method was used.
The study adopted the dimensions of the independent variable (OT) to be: Integrity, Consistency, Openness, Loyalty and Efficiency, while the dimensions of the dependent variable (OCB) to be: Courtesy, Sportsmanship,Altruism,Conscientiousness and Civic Virtue.
Aself- administered questionnaire was adapted to cover the dimensions of the study variables, and was distributed to a stratified sample of size(350) from 20 hospitals chosen as a random sample of Jordanian private Hospitals in Amman.
The retained, valid questionnaires were (298).
The results showed that the mean of organizational trust was 3.98 and that of organizational citizenship behavior 4.00on the five point Likert scale.
Both means are considered high .The analysis showed that the coefficient of determination was R2=0.719 meaning that 71.9% of the variance of OCB was explained by the dimensions of OT Also the results showed that all dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior except for Integrity andOpenness have significant effect on organizational trust.
The study made several recommendations, the most important of which is that to motivate outstanding employees, specify needs and developmental programs, maintain trust level with its dimensions and make serious efforts to support scientific research through facilitating the researchers' task by the concerned parties in the high management at the Jordanian private hospitals..
