Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify the most important variables affecting the formation of fixed capital in Libya during the period 1990-2010, which are represented in the value of the gross domestic product, investment spending, money supply in its narrow sense, the Libyan dinar exchange rate, and the interest rate in addition to the time variable that represents technical changes.

And the dummy or qualitative variable that represents the periods of embargo and non-economic embargo.

The statistical analysis was conducted using the statistical program (SPSS), and it was found through the results of the analysis.

The fixed capital formation (K) during the study period is inversely related to the value of the gross domestic product (GDP) and this is contrary to economic logic, and the inverse relationship may be due to the compound annual growth, the decrease in real GDP during the study period (-2%).

While the fixed capital formation is associated with both investment spending (G), the amount of money (MS), and the Libyan dinar exchange rate (EX) they had a positive effect, as the variables (i,D,T) were omitted because they did not affect the capital formation Constant.
