Abstract EN

The present study aims to investigate the levels of both psychological empowerment and creative behavior among a sample of faculty members in Saudi universities as well as to investigate the relationship between psychological empowerment and creative behavior.

this study used the descriptive and analytical approach.

the following scales were used in the current study : psychological empowerment scale and creative behavior scale.

these scles were built according to a five-point Likert scale.

a total of (106) random sample of faculty members from three universities: king Saud university, majmaah university, and Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic university in Riyadh, KSA participated in this study.

the researcher used the pearson correlation coefficient, frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations.

the findings of the study indicate that the ranking of the levels of psychological empowerment dimensions of the faculty members in Saudi Universities was as follows : “competence, meaning, impact, and self-determination,” whereas the ranking of creative behavior was as follows : “promoting ideas, implementing ideas, generating ideas ”.

it was also found that there is a positive statistically significant correlation (0.83) between the dimensions of psychological empowerment and the dimensions of creative behavior among faculty members.

furthermore, the findings indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the dimensions of psychological empowerment among the faculty members in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to their (university, years of experience, academic rank).
