Abstract EN

Research Topic: compilation and study of the views of al-Hafiz Muhammad bin Waddah al-Andalusi, comparing them with the views of scholars of Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel, and then deducing his approach in Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel.

Research Objective: compilation of the views of Ibn Waddah in critiquing narrators, explaining their conditions in narration, comparing these views with the views of notable scholars, and then deducing the approach of Ibn Waddah in Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel, and also explaining his status in critiquing narrators.

Research Problem: finding answer to the following questions: What are the views of Ibn Waddah and their status in Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel? Is he considered among the moderate or negligent or severe scholars in critique? What is his approach in Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel ? Prominent Research Findings: - Among the qualities of his approach in critiquing: exaggeration in praising his teachers, much interest in introducing names of the narrators, their lineage and towns in order to differentiate them from others.

- His Al-Jarh wa at-Ta'deel is divided into six levels; four in the area of at-Ta'deel and two in the area of al-Jarh.
