English Abstract
The study try to describe salt resources and the ancient techniques production in the Sudan from the lower part of Atbara river.
The study aims to document the distribution of salt archaeological sites in the area and to having a comprehensive understanding of the salt production of economic and social movement in ancient Sudan.
The study also aims to identify the origin of salt production, development and end in the area of lower Atbara river.
The study based on an archaeological survey in the salt archaeological sites, in order to connect between archaeological field information with the previous research results in this topic.
The study resulted that the salt production as ancient Sudanese craft played a great role of ancient Sudan societies development.
The study recommends carrying out archaeological .excavation in the salt archaeological sites in lower Atbara river area
