This study aims to identify and recognize the effectiveness of Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) in reinforcement of national identity and improvement of motivations.

To this aim, the researcher has employed the quasi-empirical approach, based on one group through pre-measurement, then applying the experiment, then post-measurement, applied on a sample group composed of 223 students of both genders, who are enrolled in three universities as follows: King Saud University, Taibah University, and Besha University.

The following tools have been prepared: the massive open online courses, the scale of national identity, in addition to the scale of motivation.

After data collection and processing of information using SPSS, findings of the study revealed statistically indicated differences at the indication level (α≤ 0.05) between the average marks obtained by members of the sample group in the pre- and postapplication of the scale of national identity.

Findings also revealed statistically indicated differences at the indication level (α≤ 0.05) between the average marks obtained by members of the sample group in the pre- and post-application of the scale of motivation.

However, findings pointed out that no statistically indicated differences have been detected in the respondent members of the sample group with respect to the scales of national identity and motivation that may be attributed to gender (sex).

In light of the findings, the researcher has made a number of recommendations as follows.

Lecturers and teachers are urged to set up open courses that would achieve the intended objectives of education.

Advantage should also be taken from open courses to support issues and topics uncovered by official curriculums – especially those related to national issues.

Additionally, universities should be encourage to enter into partnerships with open courses platforms to provide its courses
