Abstract EN

This study is concerned with the rebellion in Torit 1955 AD in the Equatorial Directorate and its importance is in the occurrence of the rebellion in the southern Sudan and its events shortly before the independence of Sudan and a constitutional collapse that postponed the date of independence.

The study aimed to Knowing the motives and causes of the rebellion and the government's decisions on that.

The study assumed that Sudanization and its results deepened the gap between the north and the south, which took the matter as a northern colonialism, and that the south replaced a master with a master.

The study reached several results, including the awakening of political awareness in the south by the establishment of the Southern Free (Ahrar) Party in 1954 AD, which took over the issue of the South and paid attention to it.

The study recommended setting up programs for national education that crystallize the national spirit that works to strengthen the social fabric, develop confidence between different nationalities and erase the feelings of separation that colonialism has devoted to security and peace, and among the recommendations is to spread the culture of peace through media, cultural and social platforms.

The study followed a descriptive analytical historical method.
