English Abstract

The Conflict between the Great Powers over the Red Sea until the end of the 19th century realizing the strategic and economic importance of the Red Sea, the Great Powers develop their naval fleets and military power in order to control the Sea and its ports.

In this study, light is shed on the nature of the conflict between the great nations on the Red Sea throughout history.

The historical method is deemed appropriate for data collections in this study.

The study comes up with the following findings: 1.

The Red Sea was used for trade in the past; then it has turned gradually into a competitive zone and conflict area between the Great Powers.

2.

The main motivation of the forces fighting over the Red Sea is to serve their own strategic and economic interests.

3.

The presence of foreign powers in the Red Sea has created regional and national problems for the bordering countries.

The study recommends further research and studies on the Red Sea to reveal its huge treasures to its bordering countries.
