Abstract EN

This study dealt with the geographical factors affecting diabetes incidence in the Aseer region.

diabetes is not only the most common diseases in Saudi Arabia, but it has become an endemic.

it is known, diabetes affects the individual’s ability to work which consequently affects his/her social and economic aspects.

this study tries to uncover the geographical factors that affect diabetes incidence in the Aseer region.

a questionnaire which included a number of variables that the researcher expects to be the cause of diabetes was distributed to 210 diabetic cases..

data was collected on it through a questionnaire that included a number of variables that the researcher expects to be the cause of diabetes, using the exploratory factor analysis to measure the phenomenon.

five of the main factors were extracted, i.e.

the variables were reduced to five factors:(1) the length of the disease period with significance factor of 20,387;(2) the lack to sunlight exposure with importance percentage of 14,972; (3) nutrition and workout with importance factor of 14,307;(4) individual’s general health with significance ratio of10,813 ; and finally (5) the genetics factor with significance ratio of 10.410 out of the total variance ratio.
