This study sheds light on the problem of Southern Sudan, during the period 18211985- AD, and its importance stems from the fact that it provides a field for researchers in the matter of the problem of Southern Sudan.

The study aims to find out the causes and historical roots of the problem, which is one of the most complex problems in Africa.

It also aims to know its impact on the stability of the political, economic and social situation .

The study assumed that the problem of southern Sudan is due to various reasons, including the ethnic, linguistic, religious and geographical disparity between North and South Sudan, which was exploited by colonialism to deepen the gap between the people of Sudan by practicing a policy of divide and rule Among the findings of the study: - The slavery trade represented a clear violation of human freedom.

The study recommended setting appropriate governmental plans and policies for managing diversity and promoting unity.

The study used the historical descriptive method.

And it relied on a number of government plans and policies that are appropriate to manage diversity and promote a large number of scientific references and journals.

The National Records House, and some interviews for the pioneers of the national movement, are deposited in the Library of African and Asian Studies, University of Khartoum.
