There is no doubt that the process of discovering gifted students and identifying them is the natural entrance to any project or program that aims to nurture them and unleash their energies.

It is a very important process because it results in taking decisions that may have dangerous effects, according to which one student is classified as "gifted" while another is classified as "not gifted." Given this importance, a book or reference specialized in the field of giftedness psychology or gifted education is hardly devoid of a chapter or article dedicated to addressing the topic of revealing and identifying these students.

On the other hand, the success of any program to educate gifted students depends to a large degree on the accuracy of the detection process and the safety of the procedures that were followed in their selection.
