Abstract EN

This research examines the features of poetics in modern Saudi dramatic texts.

it uses a case study of a text written by Fahad Raddah al-Harthi، entitled “the station does not leave”.

the choice of this text as a sample of the modern Saudi dramatic texts was due to its poetic richness.

the current research is divided into an introduction and two main sections.

the introduction explains the terms that are used in the current research.

the first section “the poetics of the Arabic poetic theatre” explains the relationship between poetry and drama in modern Arabic literature، as well as the poetics of dramatic texts.

the section uses a mixture of historical analysis and artistic explanations.

this section is an extended introduction for studying the relationship between Arabic poetry and its various schools with the drama that started poetically at the beginning.

the second section “the poetics of the dramatic language” conducts a practical work on the “the station does not leave” play.

it tries to explore the manifestations of poetics in the play، such as the language which displays the spirit of poetry، literary imagery، rhythm، and melody.

the research ends with the conclusion and the implications for the academic research that pertain to the Saudi literature، and to the Arabic one in general.
