Barghouthi introduced this society to the reader by briefly outlining the politico - cultural conditions in the Arab east in the 19th century.
He then showed how European orientalists, especially German and British.
Flocked to Palestine to stud\ Palestinian Folklife, establishing for that purpose the Palesine Exploration fund and its periodical.
After that .
he summarized the history of the Palestine Oriental Society since establishment in 1920 till its termination in 1948.
Finall}.
he concluded by describing the role of Palestinian researchers who were member, in the society with special emphasis M Dr.
Tawfig Kan'an.
