Abdul-Jawad reviews the history of his home town EL-Bireh from its early beginnings in the days of the Canaanites up to the present.

Following this historical survey the author presents a detailed picture of EL-Bireh as it stands at the presennt time .

Included in this picture are such features as historical sites, shrines of saints and holy men, cultural , social and scientific landmarks established in EL-Bireh during the last hundered years .
