Abstract EN

Various combinations and sentences by themselves have various characteristics so that equivalent methods are needed for transferring their semantic and applied purposes when they are translated.

In this respect, the principle of equality is a pivotal concept for making decision on the quality of translation as well as for establishment of close relationships between two languages and textual cohesion in order to create the closest natural equivalence for the message of source language.

Thus, the authors attempt to use analytic-descriptive method for investigation of translations approaches for official and non-official texts produced in official translation offices; and as the most texts translated in official translation offices are official documents and deeds including ID cards, marriage deeds, academic certificates, commercial contracts, power of attorney, affidavits, acknowledgements, licenses and permits, and so on , the proper terms and phrases are used for general framework of texts.

For example in press texts, this sentence is usually used: Talab olamin olam lel-ommam ol-motahedah estesnaf on-lofavezat, i.e.

'UN secretary-general requested for resumption of negotiations'.

It is clear that the term "estensaf" in political texts means "resumption".

However, the general meaning of term "estensaf" in legal texts and its special meaning is "appeal".

Another example: "asdarat al-mahkama al-estensaf ghararoha", i.e.

appeal court issued its judgement.

Therefore, the terms should be used properly for prevention of any ambiguities and errors.
