Verbal divorce in Algerian law and Islamic sharia is legitimate, especially if it is clearly stated in terms known as divorce or by words that have the same meaning, and have all its effects, and the divorced husband should strictly follow his divorce in accordance with the legal procedures established by the Algerian legislator to prove it, if he circumvents or has a bad faith towards to his divorcee, in this case, the divorced wife still holds the title of her divorced husband until the marking on the margin of the marriage contract, the effects of this marriage will only be erased by a Judgment, in the case of a husband's denial of verbal divorce, divorced wife only resort to filing a lawsuit for a customary divorce, which is difficult to prove.
