In our study, we quantitatively evaluate the impact of the completion of the free trade area between Algeria and the European Union scheduled for 2020, on the Algerian economy through the construction of a computable static general equilibrium model.
Our CGE is developed from a social accounting matrix (SAM) disaggregated and adapted to the Algerian economy, built on the basis of data from the National statistics Office NSO, and which is disaggregated into 19 sectors.
The results of our simulations highlight the impact of the abolition of tariffs on European products on the main macroeconomic aggregates (GDP components), but also the sectoral impacts will be analyzed in order to understand the reallocation of resources to non-tradable sectors or to the hydrocarbon sector (exportable).
The results reflect the need for arbitration between the loss of short-term revenue, the decline in GDP and welfare on one side, and the support of investment spending that can have a positive return in the long term.

Dans notre étude, nous évaluons quantitativement l'impact de l'achèvement de la zone de libre-échange entre l'Algérie et l'Union européenne prévue pour 2020, sur l'économie algérienne à travers la construction d'un modèle d'équilibre général calculable MEGC statique.
Notre MEGC est développé à partir d'une matrice de comptabilité sociale MCS désagrégée et adaptée à l'économie algérienne, construite sur la base des données de l'office national des statistiques ONS et désagrégée en 19 secteurs d'activité.
Les résultats de nos simulations mettent en exergue les répercussions de l'abolition des droits de douane sur les produits européens sur les principaux agrégats macroéconomiques (composantes du PIB), mais aussi les impacts sectoriels seront analysés afin d'appréhender la ré allocation des ressources vers les secteurs non échangeables ou encore vers le secteur des hydrocarbures (exportable).
Les résultats traduisent la nécessité de faire un arbitrage entre les pertes de revenus à court terme, la diminution du PIB et du bien-être d'un côté et le soutien des dépenses d'investissement qui peuvent avoir un retour positif à long terme.
