Abstract EN

The research aimed to study the identity crisis and to raise the Palestinian collective awareness through the field approach in the occupied Palestinian Negev.

the study also aimed to compare the generations of the Palestinian Bedouin in the Negev pertaining to their vision of Palestinian identity by responding to the items of the instrument of the study.

this tool of the study consists of three domains : the first domain deals with the variables of the social background (gender, age, educational level), the second domain deals with the language dimension, and the last domain includes items that measure the extent of awareness towards the most important historical events and Palestinian national figures.

the study was applied to a simple random sample from Palestine Ahliya University students and their families from the Negev.

the researchers used the descriptive analytical method and in-depth interviews with the students' parents in the Negev.

in general, the results indicate that there is a collective awareness the Negev Bedouin have towards Arab-Islamic identity, and that there is a regression towards the assertiveness of the Palestinian (Goan), despite their exposure to the maximum methods of obliteration and dissolution of the parameters of Palestinian identity.

the respondents expressed interest in the mother tongue, Arabic, despite the fragmentation of the language in the children's hearts as a result of the imposition of the Israeli occupation of the Hebrew language in the curriculum and social life, in addition to the occupation measures to obliterate the symbols of the national Arab culture in education.

the results also indicate that there is a collective awareness of most national historical issues among the successive Palestinian generations.

Some third-generation members have been weakened in knowing some historical events of the Palestinian people such as the Deir Yassin massacre and the revolution of 1936.
