تحليل أثر أهم مكونات الطلب النهائي على القطاعات الاقتصادية في الأردن من خلال نموذج ليونتيف "Leontief Model"

Abstract EN

The diversity of using diagnostic tools in economic analyzes is an integrative effort in highlighting more parameters that can help understanding the nature and course of countries' economies.

This study aims to measure the impact of the change in the value of the most important components of the final demand, which represent 87.4% (government expenditure, private consumption, commodity exports, capital formation) on the Total output.

Through different scenarios by applying the input-output (Leontief Model) to about 40 sectors, the above model determines and measures the most affect economic sectors, The secondary data were obtained from the official website of the Jordanian Department of Statistics.

The crucial results of this study highlighted achievement of an increase in the value of Total Output of the economy which is about (1285.1 million JD) which are distributed in many sectors as a result of scenario increasing commodity exports by 20% which equal to (879 million JD), The increase economic sectors such as textiles and leather industry ranked topped in the first about 216.8 million JD, while the chemical materials and products sector came as a second about 171.5 million JD, and then mining and quarrying, followed by Pharmaceutical industry up to 128, 112.8 million JD, respectively.

Accordingly, the value of Total Output increase 31% more than the increase in the value of commodity exports.

This study recommends focusing on developing plans, policies and programs as well in order to support commodity exports due to greater impact compared to the rest of other components of final demand by pushing the economic sectors towards production and growth, which huge part are small and medium enterprises (SME's).
