Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to highlight the relative importance of the large, medium and small rural agglomerations, which allows clarification of the distribution, spread, hierarchy and spatial distribution pattern of rural agglomerations in the wilaya of Blida, by using spatial statistical methods within the geographic information systems.

It helps to understand and derive the regional, economic and social advantages of these regions or rural communities, and thus identify the most important factors that help to achieve permanent, effective and confrontational reclamation and address several intractable problems such as unemployment and migration to cities.

The study found that the trend of spreading rural agglomerations in the state is northeast-southwest, and the study also concluded the identification of the relative importance and the functional role of rural agglomerations and their classification of three different groups in terms of the value of the criteria for their developmental weight.

Sustainable development plans based on optimizing the available potentials while preserving them as a legacy for future generations.
