Abstract EN

This study investigates the effect of financial crises on exchange markets, using the Shannon entropy method for different exchange rates in the Arab Maghreb countries during the period from 2005 to 2017.

it was found, through the study, that the periods in which the entropy values take their lowest value, are considered as an indication of the occurrence of a financial crisis.

as has been reached, that before the financial crisis strikes, entropy takes its highest value, which is the value that is considered as an early warning system that gives preliminary information before the crisis occurs.
