Abstract EN

Executive functions are the manager and the controller of all the cognitive processes, pretty much like the air traffic control.

Therefore, it is vital in our lives.

If we don't learn it in our childhood or our adolescence, we will not be able to take the responsibilities of work, marriage, bringing up children, and coexisting with each other to be part of the civil society.

This study aims at explaining the reason behind the writing difficulties, which is caused by a defect in the executive functions.

In order to achieve this aim, the two researchers chose an intended sample of 60 pupils of 4th grade schoolchildren from Tamanrasset region, 30 of them have writing difficulties and the other 30 are normal.

The researchers applied on the sample the cognitive inhibition test, and a test for diagnosing the writing difficulties.

Then, we analysed the data using the SPSS program.

The study revealed the following results: The defect in executive functions (cognitive inhibition) is one of the factors which cause the writing difficulty disorder.
