This article focuses on the reception of interpretation and hermeneutics in the Algerian critical discourse through tracing the stages that marked the term's prevalence in Algerian critical tradition.

hence, a reference to the dialectics of the term and the controversy it raises among Algerian critics of the various works and writings is also open to discussion in this paper.

this article aims to introduce the chief figures and corpus, especially the ones of Muhammad Arkoun, Abdelkader Fedouh and Mohamed Chawky Zain through their most important works that were open for interpretation.

the research has finally reached significant results that show the extent to which the Algerian critical discourse tend to follow modernist and postmodern approaches, including interpretation and hermeneutics, which have become a pioneering forcer in the Maghreb and the Arab world.
