The other and the ego is a problematic issue that is considered as one of the most critical matters which has been dealt with in modern Arabic novels.

this issue was clearly notable in many novelists' works.

thus, this research sought to highlight the image of the other and his manifestations in modern Arabic narrative with all its relations that connect the ego in the coexistence of civilizations (East-West relations), and that what we got through analyzing the image of the other and the ego in (the handsome Jew) novel by Yemeni Ali al-Muqri.

amid the conclusions which this study ended up to is getting the real rapprochement between the ego and the other can't be realized except by a mutual Tolerence, truthful love and much respect that admits the distinction of the other.
