Assessment is extremely important in the teaching-learning process, since it is one of the components of the curriculum.

it is a process that accompanies education in all its phases and dimensions, and comes indifferent forms in the case of distance learning.

the latter is the newly adopted mode of many educational systems around the world the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.

this mode of distance education is accompanied by a new mode of assessment : electronic assessment.

the latter became essential for the continuation of the educational process in all its different phases and stages during the pandemic as many educational institutions were obliged to close for safety reasons.

this study seeks to shed light on the necessity of adopting electronic assessment and its many forms in distance education to guarantee the continuation of the educational process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
