Abstract EN

This article aims at the outset to trace the early stages of codification and authorship among the Arabs to the end of the fourth century ah (prospered Abbasid era).

it also aims to introduce the character of (Ibn al-Nadim or al-Nadim) in terms of his birth, upbringing, education, work and death, which is rightfully the first (Arab bibliography) known to this period through his book el-Fahrest.

and the most important handwritten copies of the book in the world's libraries, which were adopted by scholars in investigating the book, especially the orientalists.
