when he was unable to grasp the secret behind its power, he singled it out for worship and holiness, trying to have a closer look to his god through an embodiment by shapes, symbols, animals and plants.

among the gods, dedicated to water worship, there are the sea god (Neptune) and the god of ocean (Oceanus).

in this research paper, we will know about both gods based on what was narrated by legends, as well as by reading their features through the paving mosaic of the roman cities’ baths and the houses in proconsular Africa and Numidia.
