Abstract EN

This research paper aims to clarify the self, which, according to Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005), is an actor based on a set of overlapping relationships that ensure its survival and continuity, one of which is its relationship with the other.

the latter is regarded as one of the main pillars on which Ricoeur established his interpretive project.

through the project, he attempted to restore the self and free it from closing in on itself.

according to him, the self coexists with the other and is capable of being open.

in order to understand this relationship between oneself and the other, Paul Ricoeur presented a philosophical project through his interpretive approach, considering that the interpretive purpose of the project is to “understand oneself through the mediation of the other”.
