Abstract EN

The research aims to identify the sources of funding for elderly services in Egypt, by formulating a new indicative model related to financing and services provided to the elderly.

The researcher proposes the new system of financing through the following chapters: Chapter 1: Basic Concepts.

In this chapter, the researcher deals with defining the term old age and active aging by presenting some of the literature that has been exposed to this concept with explanation and analysis.

Chapter Two The Elderly: Social and Economic Implications In this chapter, the researcher explains and analyzes the social and economic implications of the increase in the elderly and the economic and social challenges, and on top of these challenges is the provision of sustainable financing for the needs of retirees or the elderly, especially after the international recognition of the contract to enjoy health in old age (2020-2030 AD).

Chapter Three: Financing Older People’s Services: International and Arab Experiences In this chapter, the researcher reviews the importance of providing sustainable financing for elderly services and the basic principles of this financing.

The researcher also analyzes international experiences in elderly services financing, such as the German, Swedish, American, Danish, and Australian experiences, the experience of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as the experiences of Morocco, Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman.

Chapter Four: The Elderly People in Egypt and Formulating a Comprehensive Funding System In this chapter, the researcher analyzes the reality of the elderly in Egypt and their current and future relative weight in the years 2030 AD and 2050 AD, and the researcher proposes a new financing system for elderly services in Egypt that includes the quality of services provided to them, the quality of funding, the parties involved and the relative importance of funding sources.

Chapter Five: Results and Recommendations In this chapter, the researcher presents the most important results that have been reached, and also provides recommendations to activate the proposed new financing system in Egypt, in order to ensure sustainable financing and meet the social and economic needs of the elderly Keywords : The Elderly People ; Financing ;International and Arab Experiences ; The New Financing System ; The Egyptian Experience.
