History is the most important tool for learning about the past and present of peoples and nations, and there is no doubt that the written press has an active role in the history and archiving of events that occur during the period of its publication, through articles, reports, and images it publishes about the facts at the time of their occurrence.

Algeria knew the written press during the French colonization in 1830, and the press witnessed several challenges and obstacles on the part of the colonial administration, which tried to undermine and thwart the experience of journalism in Algeria, because it sees in the press the voice of the people and the pen that spreads awareness among them, as well as the defender of national identity and the resistance to all attempts by colonialism to obliterate its character.

Our study aims to present the history of the most important newspaper headlines published in Algeria from The Period from World War I to the eve of Algeria's independence in 1962 in the Oran region and the adjacent Algerian Sahara.
