This study is concerned with the poem of praise by the poet Ibn Khatima Al-Ansari who lived at the end of the Andalusian era (d.

770 AH).

Ibn Khatima wrote his collection of poems in his handwriting and divided it according to poetic subjects .

Furthermore, he reached us completely as it is.

Perhaps the most remarkable is the reluctance of the poet in the praise section from praising the kings, princes and ministers, and he went to praise the Almighty God and praise him, and to the praise of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and did not include praise of any particular character from his era, despite his close relationship with the ministers of the Bani Al Ahmar state, as Abu Al-Hassan Al-Jayyab and Lssan Al-Din Bin Al-Khatib The study examines the topics and characteristics of the praises of IbnKhatima.

Was it influenced by the wave of Sufism and asceticism prevalent in his era? Was the poetry of praise influenced the poetry of praise with Andalusian nature? What are the reasons for his reluctance to praise a certain personality, although praise in Andalusian poetry was of great importance, because of the large number of kings and princes.
