Abstract EN

Linguists have paid a great attention to the meaning, due to its connection with all the language branches.

Those linguists had a significant impact on the semantics studies because of their constant interaction with the meaning.

Hence, they have dealt with issues that are considered nowadays as the core of semantic interests.

Semantics is the specific subject for each linguistic branch as it is linked to different form of expression.

In this research we will deal with the subject of semantics in the written of two scholars: Ibn Jinni and Sibawayh, who have not separated semantics of other language levels.

Those two scholars consider that the link between the form and the function is the connection between the structure and the meaning within the language.
