Abstract EN

This article examines the definition and the compositional structure and characteristics of the sentence.

It demonstrates the different schools of thought of both ancient and modern Arab linguists and grammarians in addition to viewpoints of modern linguists.

In doing so, this study comprises various basics: grammatical, rhetorical and linguistic when it deals with the divergences among scientists and researchers in the aforesaid fields.

Also, this article includes the researcher’s opinions and judgments in supporting some viewpoints over others .with the required justification for each issue
