Abstract EN

After the establishment of the Iraqi state in 1921 ad, Feisal bin Sharif Hussein was crowned king and this after the annexation of southern Kurdistan to the new state.

this was done in the absence of the Kurdish component, which is completely different from the rest of the components of modern Iraq.

therefore, the Kurds were keen to confirm the privilege of their identity through having gone phases of conflict with the central authority in Baghdad, the latter relinquished admission of their identity and historical affiliation to their geography.

the research aims to address the path of the Kurdish issue between 1968 and 1979 and highlighting the main stations and the nature of the Baghdad government's relationship with it.

in general, the main results that we wanted to achieve are the conflict and confrontation led by the Kurds against the Iraqi government.

in addition, how the Kurdish proved the extent and complexity of their case, especially after the ill-treatment taken by the Baath government towards it , which led actors to the intervention of regional and international actors during the various stages of the conflict in light of intertwined international relations.
