Abstract EN

The description of language structure is based on the phonetic and the syntactic level in its both grammatical and morphological aspects, as well as on the semantic one, in which the semantic structure represents the point of connection between these structures (levels) in order to assign a meaning to it.

Noam Chomsky conducted studies on semantic structure through his description of generative grammar, known to him as the semantic-interpretative component, as he considered it one of the most important components of sentence structure, made of the link between sound and meaning.

it is based on the syntactic aspect of the structure of the sentence and on its properties linked to meaning.

in addition, we find that his student "Ray Jokkendoff" tried to give a new conception of semantic structure through his description of cognitive linguistics.

so what is the concept of the semantic structure of "Chomsky" and "Jokendoff" ? and what is the difference between them ? this is what we will try to give an answers through this study.
