Abstract EN

The present paper endeavors to shed light on the importance of corpora in teaching specialized translation and its terminology.

It also highlights the necessity for teachers to use computer tools that allow building, analyzing and exploring such corpora as well as extracting terminology thereof in a way that serves best lessons from a theoretical perspective and takes into account the reality of terminology reception, readability and natural practicality and applicability – thus, the translation reception and quality.

The paper aims at explaining how to harness what corpus linguistics has brought about in order to use it in specialized translation teaching and didactics, and this by giving real-life examples of corpus linguistics applications in specialized translation teaching and training.

The paper ends up with a course proposal that can be incorporated in specialized translation teaching curricula.

Such course can be amended or enriched in a way that adapts to the learners’ requirements and learning objectives.
