Abstract EN

This study is engaged to discuss the reception of structuralism in the Arabic culture.

We will also analyze the factors that have accompanied its transfer and consequently the predisposition level of literature and criticism in particular being considered as an essential part of the Arabic culture to receive structuralism as an achievement ( in its wider meaning ).

As Arabic culture has received structuralism according to a set of conditions, this study aims to understand the obstacles to the application of structural method.

The study has confirmed a number of results; the most important is the necessity to adapt the method to the local culture requirements.
