Talking about pragmatics, as a modern approach in linguistics, can not be truly meaning ful without tracing back to our ancient arab heritage; stading specifically at the early practices of this approach, wihich has its roots (orogins) in the works of greek philosophers.

Invers tigating deeply our ancient arab heritage will reveal the great contribution of arab rhotorical scholars in order to cover many communicative rtetorical phenomena.

Since pragmatics has a semantic content, as Litch sees, « action verbal » constitute one of its focal topics in our ancient Arab heritage whithin the theory of discourse and composition pragmatics studied, at the semantic level, many stractures that show or reflect the speaker s potentical in accomplishing his intended meanings, such as reporting, interrogation negations, wish, reaching the principale of « speech fitness to the context require ments.

Many rhetorical arab scholars were concerned (intereced) with such phenomena.
